Hillcrest Water Project Update 12/20/19

Project Update 12-20-2019

New Project Contact

Please welcome Amber Creasey as the new MWH Public Outreach representative. She will be working closely with Denver Water to provide project updates and respond to your questions and concerns. She can be contacted at amber.creasey@mwhconstructors.com or 720-547-5451.

MWH Constructors has used MWHC as its abbreviation for many years, but it was recently decided that the abbreviation needs to include two of their subsidiaries. Because of this, MWH Constructors will now be abbreviated as MWH.

Stockpile Update

In the November Hillcrest project update, we mentioned a small amount of asbestos was discovered in the concrete supporting the foundation of one of the demolished tanks. Sampling and analysis were conducted of the entire site and one small additional area of contamination was found. Abatement of the found asbestos will be completed by mid-January.
Recent weather has slowed the progress of the stockpile removal, which resumed in early November. Stockpile removal is expected to be complete by early spring 2020.

East Gate Visibility

We received a concern from a Canyon Club Condominium resident regarding the visibility of traffic entering and exiting the east gate. Denver Water and MWH have removed the fabric on the fence to allow for clear views of traffic exiting the site. The stop sign was relocated to inside the gate, and the need for all to follow the speed limit was reinforced.

Work Hours

Saturday work will continue through the spring. Personnel will arrive at 7 a.m. and equipment use will begin at 8 a.m.
Weekday working hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Happy Holidays!

The Hillcrest site will be closed to construction over Christmas and New Year’s on the following days: Dec. 24-Dec. 25, Dec. 28-29, and Jan. 1, 2020.
We appreciate your continued patience and understanding while we work to upgrade this important part of your water distribution system.
