Project Update 2-11-2020
Stockpile Update
In January, we concluded abatement of asbestos found on-site. Additional testing has indicated that there are no additional areas of concern. As a safety precaution, asbestos monitoring will continue throughout the rest of the project.
Large equipment and scrapers have resumed work to remove the stockpiles and continue construction on-site. We recognize this activity causes dust and have water trucks spraying to keep the dust down. We are on target to complete the removal of both stockpiles by early spring.
Conduit 28
On the northeast side of the property, near the fence line, crews are installing a portion of this 90-inch-diameter pipe. This work requires heavy equipment and will take place throughout the month of February.
Happy Canyon Road
The front gate to the property on Happy Canyon Road has resumed operation for Denver Water crews and MWH crews to enter and exit the property. We will be street sweeping twice a week to remove mud and debris from the roadway.
Landscaping
Landscaping will begin in late spring during optimal planting weather. We will keep you updated on this, as the work depends on weather conditions.
Work Hours
Saturday work will continue through the spring. We will be starting Sunday work on Feb. 9 for the next few weeks to complete the Conduit 28 construction. Personnel will arrive at 7 a.m. and equipment use will begin at 8 a.m.
Weekday working hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. We will be operating normally on Presidents Day, Monday, Feb. 17.
We appreciate your continued patience and understanding while we work to upgrade this important part of your water distribution system.
